Scotrail have announced that Edinburgh festival goers from Fife will benefit from additional services and carriages.
First Scotrail have announced the 23:59 service on Fridays which will leave Edinburgh and will travel via Dunfermline to Glenrothes with Thornton. On Fridays and Saturdays there will also be an additional 23:52 train to Dundee via North Queensferry, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Aberdour, Burntisland, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy, Marknich, Ladybank, Cupar and Leuchars.
A spokesperson for ScotRail commented: “We have continued to expand the Festivals timetable, including new services for Fife, so that even more customers can enjoy the exciting events in the capital.
“We will use all carriages available to us, but we know that some services – particularly last trains home – will still be busy.”
Do you believe that these additional services are adequate or would you prefer to see more late night trains to allow Fife residents to take better advantage of having the Edinburgh Festival so close?
