Following a query from a reader on a previous story, we submitted a Freedom of Information request to Fife Council asking for details of all employees earning over £100,000 per annum.
We received a reply today as follows:
The Job Titles and salaries are:
Chief Executive (x1) – £149,946
Executive Director (x5) – £111,525
This means that the Chief Executive earns more than the First Minister of Scotland and the five Executive Directors earn more than the senior members of the Scottish Cabinet who are responsible for the whole of Scotland.
Do you believe senior salaries at Fife Council are too high? Should these be reduced before looking to save money elsewhere?
