Fife Petrol Station Violently Robbed in Early Hours of This Morning

A Fife petrol station was robbed of a three figure sum and staff were assaulted in the early hours of this morning.

The robbery took place around 12.30am at the BP garage on Windygates Road in Leven and police are appealing for witnesses.

The man is described as white, around 6 ft tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured hat and overcoat. The suspect was last seen on a white pedal bike on Methil Brae a short time later.

A Police Scotland spokesperson commented, “This was a traumatic experience for the shop worker who was working, providing a service to the community. This type of serious violent offending will always be thoroughly investigated and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward”.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of the petrol station or Methil Brae at the time and urge those who may have dash cam footage relevant to the investigation to contact police.”
