Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government agency in charge of building the new Forth Replacement Crossing have asked the public to select the final name from a shortlist of five. There were around 7,500 responses to the initial consultation on the name and the suggestions were whittled down from these to five by an independent group, including a representative from a local community council.
Scottish Government Transport Minister Keith Brown MSP said:
“The Forth Replacement Crossing is the biggest infrastructure project in Scotland, vital for the future of the nation’s economy and the naming process has clearly captured the imagination of the public.”
The shortlisted naming options are:
A – Caledonia Bridge
B – Firth of Forth Crossing
C – Queensferry Crossing
D – Saltire Crossing
E – St. Margaret’s Crossing
