Man Named After Fatal Car Crash on Friday

Police Scotland can confirm the identity of a 61-year-old man who died following a road crash on the A985.

He was Frank MacFarlane from Rosyth.

The incident happened around 5.35am on Friday, 31 July, 2020 on the A985 between Cairneyhill roundabout and Kincardine, when his blue BMW 3 series left the road and struck a wall. He was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where on Saturday, 1 August, 2020, he sadly died.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Fife Road Policing said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr MacFarlane at this difficult time.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. We would urge anybody who was driving on the road and may have dashcam footage or witnessed the incident to contact police.”
